FAQ’S
-
Balanced Being Counseling has two offices in Southwest Florida, one in North Fort Myers at 13180 N Cleveland Ave, Suite 319, and one in Naples at 4949 Tamiami Trail, Suite 202. We also offer telehealth therapy sessions for adults throughout the state of Florida, so you can access care from anywhere in the state.
-
We accept several insurance plans and also offer self-pay options. Self-pay clients receive a superbill they can submit to their insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Self-pay also means greater privacy, no diagnosis required for billing, and your records stay between you and your therapist. We currently accept Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue, and United Healthcare.
-
If your insurance provider is not listed as in-network, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits or choose our self-pay option, and we will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for direct reimbursement.
-
Increased Confidentiality:
Opting for private pay ensures that sensitive information about your therapy and diagnosis remains solely between you and your therapist. Insurance claims typically involve sharing diagnostic information.
-Enhanced Privacy:
Unlike insurance billing, private pay eliminates the need to share your therapy details with third-party entities. This can provide a greater sense of privacy and control over your therapy journey.
-No Diagnoses Required:
When paying privately, clients do not need to receive a formal diagnosis for reimbursement purposes. This may be beneficial for individuals who are seeking support without wanting to label or define their experiences with a diagnosis.

Yes. Our practice offers bilingual counseling services in both English and Spanish. If you're more comfortable expressing yourself in Spanish, you deserve a therapist who can meet you there, not one who just gets by. We serve Spanish-speaking adults throughout Fort Myers, Naples, and all of Florida via telehealth.

We work with adults (18+) experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, stress, and relationship challenges. Our therapists take a holistic approach, addressing the connection between your mental health, body, and daily life; rather than just managing symptoms.
-

If anxiety, stress, past trauma, or emotional patterns are interfering with your relationships, work, or daily functioning, that's enough of a reason to reach out. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many of our clients come to us simply because they want to feel better and function at a higher level.
-
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know you, your background, what's bringing you in, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. There's no pressure to share everything at once. By the end, we'll have a clearer picture of your goals and start building a plan that actually fits your life.
-
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations are subject to a $100 fee. We get it, life in Southwest Florida gets busy, but that time was reserved specifically for you, and we think clear boundaries are actually good modeling for the work we do together.
